Two of the most iconic World War II-era bombers will host a tour stop in St. Paul, Minnesota, July 16-19, 2026.
B-29 DOC—one of only two Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers still airworthy and flying today—and B-25 Miss Mitchell of the Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing (CAF MN) will team up for a B-29 DOC History Restored Tour stop at St. Paul Downtown Airport. Ground and cockpit tours, as well as warbird ride flights, will be available during the event at Holman Field.

“In 1942, the B-25—flown by the Doolittle Raiders from the deck of the USS Hornet—carried out the first Allied offensive strike against Japan,” said Josh Wells, B-29 DOC executive director. “Three years later, the B-29 helped bring the war to an end in August 1945. Having both historic bombers on the same ramp gives us a rare opportunity to bring their stories to life and to honor the men and women who designed, built, maintained, and flew these legendary aircraft. We are inspired to partner with our friends at the Minnesota Wing of the CAF to offer the Twin Cities a unique chance to experience history up close.”
The combined mission of B-29 DOC and the CAF Minnesota Wing is to provide access to historic warbirds to ensure the legacy of the Greatest Generation lives on, while inspiring future generations to further write U.S. aviation history.
“We are thrilled to partner with the B-29 Doc once again at Holman Field. This collaboration provides a unique opportunity for people to experience history in a beautiful and historic setting,” said Amy Lauria, wing leader of the CAF MN Wing. “Holman’s Table and the historic terminal building offer a fantastic location for us to operate while enjoying the sights of St. Paul, MN, as well as the experience of the aircraft.”
B-29 DOC and B-25 Miss Mitchell will arrive at St. Paul Downtown Airport on Thursday, July 16. Public access for ground and cockpit tours will be available through the historic terminal building at Holman Field at 644 Bayfield Street, St. Paul, MN 55107. Admission will be $10 per person or $20 per family and tour tickets will be available at the gate the days of the event. Ground and cockpit access is scheduled for Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. Access will be available to the aircraft when they are not flying ride flights. Ride flight tickets for both aircraft are on sale now at B-29 DOC: www.b29doc.com/rides and B-25 Miss Mitchell: www.cafmn.org/history-flights.html.
