B-29 DOC added to the list of aircraft at the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show in June
The iconic B-29 Superfortress DOC will return to the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo in 2026, bringing one of the world’s most historic World War II bombers back to the air show in June.
“The B-29 Superfortress helped shape the course of aviation history, and having DOC visit the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show is a powerful reminder of the innovation and courage that defined the Greatest Generation,” said John Bales, Executive Director of the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo. “It’s an incredible opportunity for our guests to connect with that history in a very tangible way.”
As one of only two airworthy B-29 bombers flying today, DOC’s appearance in St. Louis will give air show spectators a rare opportunity to see, hear, and experience the legendary aircraft. DOC will be available for ride flights and cockpit tours during the air show, giving air show attendees an up-close look and a hands-on history lesson.

“Having B-29 DOC at an air show is about more than just the airplane — it’s about the story of aviation,” said B-29 DOC Aircraft Commander Mark Novak. “When you see DOC alongside other historic aircraft and modern performers, it really shows how far aviation has come. Being part of an event like this helps us honor the legacy of those who came before us while hopefully inspiring the next generation of pilots and aviation enthusiasts watching from the ground.”
DOC will arrive at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport on June 2 and will be available for ride flights prior to the show, June 3 and 4. Tickets for B-29 DOC Flight Experience rides are on sale now at www.b29doc.com/rides.
“We’re excited to bring B-29 DOC back to the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show,” said Josh Wells, B-29 DOC executive director. “Every time DOC flies into a community, it’s an opportunity to connect people with the history and legacy of the Greatest Generation. Seeing this iconic bomber again in front of aviation fans at such a premier event is something our entire crew looks forward to—and the hospitality of the aviation community and air show fans in St. Louis is among the best in the country.”
The 2026 appearance at the St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo will be DOC’s third visit to St. Louis, having participated in the show first in 2018 and again in 2022.
